Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

We are not in-network for any insurance plans. But we make reimbursement for out-of-network coverage easy by generating monthly insurance statements that are always accessible through the client portal. If you don’t know if you have out-of-network coverage, you can call your insurance company to ask about your 1) deductible and 2) the percentage of the “usual, customary, and reasonable rate” they will reimburse a clinical psychologist or LMSW for a 50 minute therapy session (CPT code 90834).

What are your fees and do you offer a sliding scale?

Our fees range from $175 to $300 for a 50-minute session, depending on the clinician’s experience in the field. Some of our therapists offer a sliding scale on a limited basis. You should inquire about fee by email or during your consult.

How many sessions will this be?

It depends on several variables including the complexity of your symptoms and issues, your openness to change, and the degree of transformation. It’s safe to say that we’ll get you there as gently and efficiently as possible.

Will we get to talk at all?

Yes! Your therapist will know a lot about you and you’ll get to talk about what’s going on in your life. However, many of our clients come to us precisely because they know their issues and story but still have problematic feelings and behaviors. It won’t be enough just to talk. This therapy will balance flexibility with structure and talking with experiencing.

Can we meet every other week?

Biweekly sessions occur when clients are graduating from therapy. They are not typically something that we do from the outset. The first few months of therapy are critical in establishing goals and creating momentum. We prefer to work faster and end earlier. However, we understand that biweekly sessions may feel like a financial necessity. In that case, you should raise this and we will see what we can work out.
